Many gather around to decorate their home's inner beauty with these fishes.
They change the outlook of the room where they reside.
Besides other pets, the owner can play with them and
interact with them by calling their names. These fishes are God-given creatures
to us, and it is our responsibility to take great care of them with affection,
passion, love, and respect.
Unlike many other pet animals, these fishes do not
last long. Their lifespan is just around 2 to 4 years. Maximum leading to 5
years; after that, they will be gone leaving a house empty.
One main reason that affects and decreases their
lifespan is the water.
Water conditions
Bettas are popular worldwide because they live in a
variety of water ranges. Their origin is in Thailand, where they live their
life as wildlife. They reside in streams are shallow, ponds, slow-moving water
( river ), or rice paddies.
In these types of water conditions, oxygen level
matters a lot to them. As low as the oxygen level gets, their chances of
survival decrease; they even die sometime. But naturally, they have labyrinth
organ, which allows them to inhale the air.
Owners can even notice that sometimes, betta put
their face out of water and breath; they are breathing just air, nothing else.
The air tends to reside in human or fish bodies 100 times as much as water.
pH
Besides every other water condition. Bettas prefer
to go with a flow of acidic and soft chemistry levels. Plants such as tannins,
humic, and different types have a pH level of less than 7.0, which is ideal for
these fishes.
This pH level will utilize them, making them happy
and living freely. Also, the GH ( general hardness ) of water has to be as low
as possible. The KH ( carbonate hardness ) should be quiet too. It is softer
when these characteristics are dissolved in the water, which is perfect for
bettas.
Chemicals in water
There are some chemicals found in water that are
harmful to a betta. Such as chlorine, which in its weaker form can lead betta
to its demise.
Other than tap water, which is perfectly healthy for
humans but is named the most dangerous water for a betta. Also, do not ever go
for distilled water. It has the most low level of oxygen, which is a hazard to
the betta's life.
Also, it is advised to purchase water from pet
stores or betta stores. And if not, do not hesitate to ask a related
water-related question.
Filter
The filter of water is essential for both humans and
bettas too. It makes water safer by removing any dust and other such particles
that are harmful to health.
The easiest way to filter the water of live
betta fish for sale is to buy a tank or aquarium with
preinstalled filter. This way, the owner shouldn't be worried about cleaning
the water manually and taking so much time in the mean procedure.
